However if you do want a sport cat try Stainless steel exhausts manifolds and headers from Hayward and Scott or subaru impreza parts from scoobyworld, suppliers of high performance products for your Subaru

That's absolute bollocks the people you are going to are mistaken as the below piccy shows.

Do you mean the emissions are way out?
The pre July 95 test is a proper test because your car is an import if they are testing your car as a UK spec they are wrong.

LOL why can't you just accept he wants a cat? What's the point of polluting your surroundings when you don't need to? There are many perfectly good sports cats out there, they do not limit power at over 300 bhp and go straight through an MOT with no bent testers, special import rules etc. These are not smoky old 80's bangers we're talking about. Imprezas always had cats and were modern cars. Decatting is like going back in time IMHO. The only reason you would decat surely is if you can't afford a sports cat pipe? :-)

I would suggest you try the lambda sensor if you haven't already..
they fail on the early car fairly readily due to being in the headers and the pressure and heat there makes them fail more regular hence on the newer cars it is in the downpipe. if you fit a catted or non-catted downpipe then move the sensor from the headers to the downpipe.
