I got one of e-bay for my Legacy GT from budget-radiators, looks well made fitted with no issues and is still working well.

yea because its for an automatic... I read what you said in the projects posts, am I right in thinking you are going to run engine oil through it? If so it would be worth finding out if it can cope with the oil pressures involved.

Im not sure what oil pressure an auto gear box runs at but I can see it being as high as the engine oil pressure.

Yeah. It would be worthwhile. Not too sure how you find that out on an aftermarket radiator. I'm sure someone on here might know the working pressures of the two.

Thanks mate, nice to know some reads my posts lol

2 thinks wont the oil pump be sucking oil through the oil cooler i.e under vaccum and the viscous coupling is going to require quite a high oil pressure isn't it?

Doesnt the oil pump only suck oil from the sump? Then pump it through at a maximum of about 100psi...

Also I seem to have in my head that the automatics use seperate oil for the viscous center diff and the front diff...I could well be wrong about that and cant find that info anywhere.

Any luck finding what pressure the auto box runs at?

Yea... a proper oil to air cooler will be better for cooling anyway I would have thought and probably easier to route the lines too.

Im not too sure, ive seen them fitted where the top mount intercooler was if you have a front mount itercooler which looks cool and utilises the scoop although I heard of issues with air locks as its so high up... but people still manage it.

If your using a sandwich plate to get the feeds for it I would have thought it would be easier to just run the lines straight out and put it by the water radiator, in front of it ideally.

I have also read that its advisable to use a thermostat type thing (oil-stat) this will help the oil get hot quickly and when upto temp will allow cooling via the oil cooler.
