Found installed in my '96 STI:



The car was running low boost (just 0.6 bar) when I bought it; removing this gadget has fixed that problem, but it may simply be that it wasn't installed correctly in the first place. Sadly it doesn't have any instructions or any other identifying marks on it, and I don't think the car's previous owner even noticed it was there. The little rubber button at the lower left corner can be rotated.

Any ideas what it actually is please?

It's surplus to requirements now; is it useful or worth anything to anyone on its own, or a waste of space unless it comes with some other component?

 

you need the loom & control box so not worth anything unless someone needs a replacement

What is the little **** on it for though?

 

has it got any markings on the rubber button? like + - or anything? at a guess i would say its for min and max boost but not sure as it looks like an electronic boost valve nota manuel one.

 

Ok, stoopid time...

The rubber button isn't a control of any sort - it's just a cap covering another connection for a hose. (No wonder that turning it didn't do anything... )
