Very low oil!!

Very low oil!!
I have just noticed my oil is very low, would this cause my 'check engine' light to come on and cause other running issues like im having at present
As mentioned in my other thread, bad idle and when i boost it knockes me off boost.

hi mate,
low oil won't trigger the cel, how's your coolant level?, any gunk or bubbles? If nothing obvious jumps out i'd get it to API asap, - could be all your problems are linked to a common cause.
