hi all,
Ive found the following for sale in america its a BRAND NEW, NEVER USED OR INSTALLED OR RAN OR REBUILT EJ257 SHORT BLOCK (block, crank, rods, and pistons only)!!! (thats there discription).
I have emailed them and they have said it was a new block that a customer wanted cosworth pistons fitted but they had problems with the customer so they are now selling it.
The block is a standard STI EJ257 block with standard crank and rods but with cosworth piston but they are not sure of the exact model of cosworth pistons as the customer supplied them.
Ideally my car will evently been only used as a weekend toy and odd track work so probably would stay around 500-600bhp but you never know as we are all power hungry.
Does this sound a good setup as i think i might get it a a good price.
All info is appreciated
Drew

suppose it depends on the good price. For those power levels you will need new rods anyway, that along with getting it shipped etc may just be cheaper buying in the uk and get equivalent pistons over here

Its actually on ebay in america at 1000 dollars which is about £500 and its £250 to post it so £750 so far but im sure it will go up.
As far as i can see its £1500 for new block here with about £600 for pistons so that £2100.
So if i got it for £1500 it would be a good price.

eBay Motors: STI Shortblock Subaru Engine & 2.65L Arias Pistons (item 330162664666 end time Sep-11-07 16:09:39 PDT)
Not the one you been looking at but another one i was looking at as a cheaper way of doing a build maybe get it sent to an engineer out there like axis so ots just ready for the heads when it gets here.
