my neighbour woke me up last night around 4 to say our cars were broke into right beside eachother they punched the lock and stole my satnav cd md player and tryd to steal the car only they completly snaped the stearing wheel off ,the collum is all twisted also has any one any idea wot i need to replace this and wot sort of money id be looking its a 97/8 sti ra cheers they also bent my neighbours door out and stole there radio and broke there stearing lock but never took the car

Column, about 60 -80 from a breakers, takes about 2 hours to do, easy job

Lock, depends on how they did the lock and what damage to the car. maybe best to get a column and full lockset so they are all the same key.

Maybe have a look in for sale and see who is breaking one?

i have plenty of these steering column in stock but am located here in manila philippines. i dont have much use for these are these are RHD. make me a reasonable offer if interested. shipping is freight collect.

thanks but shipping would prob b as much an a new one tho as i am in n.ireland thanks anyway would any impreza colum do? providing its the same year!!

donnelys got back to me with a price for the colum 349 +vat cos its an import and ill have to wait would a uk spec 1 not do the job??

I thought the only difference is wether or not it's a Quick rack or not. AFAIK The steering racks are the same fitting/shape, just that some Type RA's have a quick rack fitted, but they can be swapped from one to the other

it has a sticker on the car which says sti quick rack steering howdo i tell?wots the differnce? and are these dearer? cheers
