Turbo Problems
Driving down the M3 last night when my car lost power. Looked at the boost gague and it had lost boost. No smoke or air noises coming from engine bay/exhaust.
I have been led to believe it may be my wastegate is stuck open.
I cannot get it looked at until friday. Would it be okay to drive in the meantime or will it cause any long term damage?
Thanks in advance.

you can check it easy by trying to push the actuator rod towards firewall.
with normal actuator it should take some force. might need to take heatshield off though.
with open wastegate the exhaust gets alot hotter. should not be a real problem though if it isn't used for too long.

From: Nottingham with 620BHP & 530lb/ft @1.5bar boost on road fuel.
It could also be something as simple as a boost pipe, cracked or split? Maybe even a loose jubilee clip or similar?
Have a good look at the pipework first as they are more likely to be the problem than a Turbo failure?
