need help and advice and knowledge
bought an import my95 a couple of months ago
the check engine light came on yesterday on the way 2 work stayed on for a bit then went off?
then on the way home from work it came on again but stayed on this time then i noticed the fans where going constantly?
then when i got in it this morning to go to work it wouldnt start?
turned over but nothing more?
i disconnected the battery and left it all day, reconnected it this evening and it started fine no problems
what could be causing this as it is the 2nd time now?
as far as i know the car has the following mods -
phase2
440 yellow top injectors fitted along with a larger MY98
intercooler, 3 bar map
sensor and the new ESL live map ECU add on,
mapped to run 1.3bar and 310-320bhp.
please help??

You need to find why the engine check light came on. Connecting the 2 black connectors under the dash/steering & with the ignition turned on will then make the engine check light flash. By reading the number of flashes will help you pin point which sensor is at fault. Try a search on ecu checks codes.
Disconnecting the battery will only clear the codes from the ecu so you are back to square one. The only good point is that if the check light comes up again you can be at least sure that the codes are true/current & not stored previously.
