my first scooby,

having purchased my first scooby ( via blind auction ) , the engine started and run rough , (assumed this was a result of being in storage for a while ) , so i let the engine run for a bit , and noticed black smoke coming out of the exhausts. upon closer inspection it was heavy carbon deposits almost sludgy , so going to back to the engine , i realised the their is no airfilter or induction kit on the airflow meter. im assuming the engine is overfueling.

now the engine turns but wont start, have i damaged my engine. also please can someone tell mewhich is better a airbox with k&N panel filter or induction kit

as this engine has done 110k miles, what should i inspect and change.

What i sugest you do is 1stly check the plugs.make sure there not covered in Oil etc etc etc. Then if that doesnt work ensure you have fuel in the car.

whats the best way of doing a compression test and what sort if reading should i get for my scooby (1998 impreza turbo 2000 awd)
