As title says, I do a few drag meets in the year and Scooby Shootout and the odd trackday but the car is a daily driver for my wife, so needs to be manageable for her. Its a classic and its going to have a uk 5speed box with a ppg gearset.

Exedy twin will be the only sure bet at handling the power, any single will be destroyed very quickly. Don't think the Mrs will be happy about it though, saw my mrs in one stalled it 3 times before doing a near on drag strip launch to pull away!

I'm aiming for higher power eventually so fitted an OS Gikken twin plate racing clutch (push release type)
Will handle all the power and torque you can throw at it for launches but daily driver? If I get stuck in a queue on the way to work my left thigh muscle will be throbbing by the time I get to work. Not an easy car to drive in heavy traffic!

I have used both the Exedy, & the OS Giken. The Giken is a SOB to drive, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but dedicated track/drag cars.
My experience of the Exedy is different to yours. I found it to have a light peddle, and once it had done a few miles, very easy to use.
It's cheaper than the Giken, and replacement parts are readily available, should you need them.
Doug,
Yes I stock the Exedy Hyper clutch kits. Retail is a little crazy at £1246.00 + vat, but I can offer them way below that.
Give me a call, and I'll see what I can do for you.
Mark.
