Default gold turbo rod thingy (not very technical minded)

Dunno its proper name but the rod that comes from the turbo to the round thing behind it,maybe an actuator/wastegate.Is this thing meant to be able to move by hand,if you twist or pull it been told that could explain my high boost levels as it seems solid

The rod thing! Yep I guess thats your actuator and no it should not move freely. It should take a bit of effort to move, this could well be the problem. check out other 'Boost' related threads on this site as I have seen this question quite a few times over the last few months. Cheers

If you mean yours is solid then thats how it should be, maybe your boost solenoid needs a clean?

you should be able to move it by hand with force, but in its location on the car it could be tricky getting a good grip

Yeah with force you should be able to pull it out of the actuator housing
