I sold my sti 3 a few weeks ago, however the new owner has contacted me as the hand commander from the power fc ecu will now only display the a'pexi logo when the car is turned on - i.e. you cannot access any of the functions of the hand commander, however the car apparently runs fine.
I noticed when I had a look at it that he had installed a new stereo - could something have happened because of that? He also told me that the battery went flat at one point due to too many short journeys - could the ecu have lost its map because of this?

Had my battery leads off recently to change the flat oe that had given up the ghost..... my commander did not lose any of the information when i restarted the car,and im pretty sure that unless you do a system reset the programme thats been installed onto the ecu cannot be simply erased like that.... think the commander its self is faulty as the car apparently drives ok

Thanks guys. Will suggest he unlugs and re-connects the commander, however I presume it must be in ok as it still lights up when the ignition is switched on.
It's not even mine anymore and I'm still fixing the bloody thing, lol.
