Default gold flecks in oil-should i be worried

changed the oil in my 94sti import tonight,after pouring theold oil away noticed some gold coloured flecks in the bottom of the can,is this a bad sign.car sounds fine appart froma slight tapping on idle.also oil light would'nt go out while cranking the engine with the crank sensor removed with new oil in

Yes,

Your slight tap at idle will probably soon become a knock. The goldy flecks are 99% certain to be from a big end or main bearing - but most likely a big end.

To confirm have a good look in your oil filter that you took off. Even chop it in half with a hacksaw. You will probably find even more.

as above, don't drive it and you might save yourself a packet in rebuild costs.
