Question Gauge fitting question

Hey guys. I recently ordered some prosport stepper gauges from xyberautos, and am wanting to get them fitted now. I'm gonna book it in my local garage cuz I have absolutely no knowledge of ANYTHING and have got no chance in hell of fitting em myself! When I ordered em I had the option of getting an 'oil sandwich adaptor' which I got, cuz it said it would make the fitting of the gauges much easier. This is what came with the gauges.......

Are they two separate bits? Or do they go together somehow? Is it just pure coincidence that one bit fits perfectly inside the other one?.......

I just have got no idea what the hell they are lol. The blue bit, to me, looks like it goes between the oil filter & the engine? The instructions aren't very clear at all. I dunno what the other bit is tho? I just wanna make sure I've got everything I need before I give the car to the garage. The gauges I've got are boost, oil temp, and oil pressure. Anyone who knows if I need to buy anything else or not then please can you advise me!

Cheers guys

Also guys, seeing as that sandwich adaptor involves taking the oil filter off, I'm guessing I have also gotta have the oil changed when I have the gauges fitted?

Yep sandwich plate fits between the filter and houdes the oil temp and pressure senders to your gauges.

The other way to fit the senders/sensors is to plumb the oil temp one into a blanked off hole above the No3 cylinder, usually with an adaptor plug.
The pressure sender can easily replace the useless OEM under the alternator.

Much easier and cheaper to do it the way richiewong says.
Bit late now you hva ebought it though, unless you can send it back?

However you are spot on with how you think it all fits together.

GAUGEPLACE SUBARU IMPREZA OIL PRESSURE GAUGE ADAPTOR - eBay Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Oct-07 11:37:39 BST)

GAUGEPLACE SUBARU IMPREZA 3rd CYLINDER OIL TEMP ADAPTOR - eBay Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Oct-07 11:37:41 BST)

You need the above items to make it easy and you don't have to drain the oil either. extra bonus is the oil pressure reading is more likely to be more accurate as it is the standard position

Well I could send it back I spoze, but those extra bits only cost me £16.....and the bits that 500 just said for me to buy come to £30 all together, and that's not including postage. So the cheapest way is stick with what I've got really, but you've got me worried about the oil pressure reading not being accurate now if I do it with my stuff!

Oh, and 500....were you saying I don't have to drain the oil anyway? Or I don't have to drain the oil if I buy the 2 things you left the links for on ebay?

Cheers guys

Ahh I seeeee (I think!?! lol), so you mean that I can use my blue sandwich adaptor plate by the oil filter for the oil temp gauge, but then use that £9.99 adaptor for the oil pressure gauge to get the more accurate reading?

The 9.99 one is for the temp, the 19.99 one is for the pressure.

Postage will be combined so you won't pay double

15 + oil and filter works out more than 30

with both the ones from ebay, you don't need to drain the oil at all

tc, how do you mean you only need one

The oil temp adaptor is all you need as it replaces the plug above number 3 cylinder under the i/c the oil pressure sender is a direct replacement for the original one which is under the alternator (well it is on 97>)
