Question DECAT help please

Afternoon All,

i want to purchase a decat for my 1995 impreza but what can you do to stop the ECU light or any warning lights from coming on (if any do)?

I used to have a Saxo that i turbo'd and i also decat that. to get round the ECU problem of the lambar sensor detecting too much Co2 i got a special aluminium sleeve (from a saxo tuner) that i screwed the lambar sensor into, this was then cable tied in the engine bay.

please can someone tell me

1) if you get an ECU or any lights coming on if you decat a Impreza?
2) if you do get a light coming on what do people do to remidie this?
3) if anyone knows where you can get a lamba sensor cover for an Impreza please can they let me know?

Thank you in advanced fellow Scooby owners

you won't get any warning lights / error codes when decatting anything earlier then 2001.

Was gonna say, I decatted my MY94 and never had any lights come on. It's only the newer ones you'll have any issues with.

Guess that gives you the green light to get it "sorted" then

Question

No lights wooo hooo god i love old scoobies even more now. cheers for all the information people.

i am going to get a nice HKS steel decat as i have heard that you can get a funny resinating sound on alloy ones, does anyone have any tips on the best DCAT's to look at? the car currently has a cat back 3" HKS power exhaust and HKS unequal lengt SS headers.

Tell you what when people say "once you go Jap you dont go back" are bang on the money.
