Default Oil leak:( take a look

Hi everyone. Recently I found quite nasty oil leak in my Scoob. First it started to smoke a bit and smell quite bad and when I looked under the engine it look like this:

Its driver side, oil dripping directly on to exhaust. It seems that its just from under the cover but could someone confirm it and any idea about difficulty and price for fixing it? If not very hard could do it myself I think
Thanks

Regards, Cypek

Like you mention, that looks like the gasket has gone. I don't think it's a prticularly hard job to change it, more fiddly and not a lot of space. One of the lads up here got his done at AS Performance, but I can't remember how much it cost.

Sorry it's not a lot of help.

Rocker cover, gasket *kit* (kit not just 1 seal, kit does both sides but includes seals for sparkplug access cutout and for the bolts) gasket kit from subaru is £70, to fit a new gasket takes 30mins - 2 hours its not hard just awkward getting your hand tight against the wheel arch

take out the airbox etc for better access

Give me a call in the morning. I carry the individual parts in stock, so you won't need to buy both sides.

i would use it ,but you can put an extra washer in when you tighten back down as well ,cos they all leak eventually.

For a rough rule of thumb. Tileys in Bristol quoted someone £180.00 to do this job on one side whilst i was there today.
