anti-lag and launch control
hello all
whats the difference between the two and how do thay work.
iv been reading about a gizzmo launch control unit which holds the revs to my desired setting by indusing a misfire.
also it has a control on the clutch pedal so that you keep your foot flat on the throttle pedal and when you press the clutch it cuts the revs to my desierd setting while keeping the turbo spooled up and when you release the clutch the throttle pedal takes over again.
i thought that the second part was anti lag but im not sure and i dont know.
also is this how all the launch controls work buy causing a misfire.
thanks and sorry for the bad spelligs to many years texting.

Put simply yes , all launch control systems work with either a fuel cut , or fuel cut and ign ret to introduce a missfire effectively lowering the rev limit...
The clutch switch is what turns the system on and off...

Launch control is as above. Can be set before take off and deactivated when the clutch pedal is released as stated above too.
Anti-lag does exactly what is says on the tin. Kills lag by keeping the turbo spinning when off throttle. This is done by keeping exhaust gases moving. Some use air bypasses straight to the exhaust manifold causing fuel rich exhaust gases to combust, hence keeping exhaust gas and turbo moving.
