Oil light came on at high revs

Oil light came on at high revs
Took a JDM STi v7 out last night, at around 7500rpm the oil light flashed on for a secound and then flashed back off. This happened twice, any ideas what could be causing it? Car seemed to be running fine and it was only had high revs did it happen.

Cheers for the reply, wasn't my car but have checked the oil level today and it is right down. What's the best reccomended oil?
Likely to have caused any damage? It hasn't really been driven hard, first time it has been taken over 6k last night really.

Not sure what the oe oil warning light flicks on at but its still not a good thing...you just have to hope you've not damaged parts, but you might of added a "few miles" on her without actually doing them.
