Sudden loss of power in 07 WRX Type UK
I've recently bought an ex-demo WRX Type UK SL saloon. It's been absolutely fine, until this morning. Usual 20 mins crawl to work, then turn into the access road to the car park, floor it, grab 2nd, more loud pedal, then hard on the brakes, turn into the car park with a big grin on my face...or should do. The problem was, as I changed up to 2nd, there was a massive loss of power. As I let the clutch out, I was pulled up hard by the seat belt. It was like I'd stepped on the brakes, not the throttle. The revs had nose dived, then suddenly normal service was resumed. If someone had been following me, it could of been rather unpleasant.
This is my 4th Scooby, so I'm familiar with the driving experience. It wasn't the rev-limiter, I didn't hit the brakes or any other numpty mistake. I've tried recreating the effect, without success. The only thing me and the dealer can come up with is that the tank was low, just about orange light level, and with the hard right turn and then the acceleration, that the fuel sloshed away from the fuel pickup and caused a brief case of fuel starvation.
Any comments, ideas, similar experiences???????

what you and the dealer suspect is the fault sounds pheasable to me,i have read a few posts before about similar faults.
i think there is a fuel tank baffle mod that can be done to stop the fuel sloshing away from the pick up when low on petrol.
best thing to is not let the fuel level get as low

Thanks for the feedback.
Shytot, you're spot on with the RH bend. It seems that my 2 options are either drive more conservatively, or fill up more often Hmmmm, guess I'll be visiting the Total garage more often!
