MAF sensor for 1993 WRX

MAF sensor for 1993 WRX
There's nothing wrong with my existing MAF (motor is running beautifully) but it's over 90K miles and I'm worried that the MAF might have seriously deteriorated over time, and would like to replace it for peace of mind (I don't fancy a detted engine for the sake of not replacing this part).
Therefore, does anyone know of a supplier/s from where I can obtain a brand new (or as good as new) MAF sensor for my 1993 WRX (part no. 22680 AA160 A36-000 R60), as cheaply as posssible?
Many thanks
John

as mentioned above get it checked.
it may be fine.
It may just need a clean
It may be faulty and running lean.
Even after it's checked it may start to fail a few weeks later...it's just one of those things......
Editted to Say : Yes the early ones do fail and start to run lean, and can give no indication unless AFR is checked.

...This is the reason why I'm quite prepared to pay to replace it wholesale with a brand new one, and quit with the faffing around and costs of rolling road time!
Am I condemnded to a Subaru main dealer and their prices? Or are there any suppliers around that have brand new ones without the inevitable mark-ups?! (There are only 2nd-hand units available on ebay ...)

Yeah, that's about right. Mine failed back in 2005 and a replacement cost £238. When I was looking around back then it was a dealer only part.

I really cant see the point of changing it. If it aint broke and all that. Do you know how old the one you have is? If you know for sure its 90k miles old, then fair enough.
The early ones certainly seem to be pretty good as mine is fine after 4 years of my ownership and I'm pretty sure its older than that.

I hear what you're saying, but that's the thing... I have no service history from when it was imported from Japan (I'm the first UK owner) - so the MAF could well be 90k old!
Thing is, if the wire has lost/increased(?) its resistance and is underfuelling to compensate, I won't necessarily know that this is the case... unless symptoms are definately manifested in a jerky acceleration (which my car definately doesn't do).
But the way I understand it, is that you would need to check the A/F ratio by some measuring apparatus (or rolling road), to get a definitive idea of the condition of the MAF. I obviously don't want to spend £260 unnecessarily... but then again, don't fancy - moreover, can't afford! - a £3k rebuild either...

Ah, some helpfull advice from Zen Perfromance regarding servicing/replacement of MAF sensors for all Classic Model Years...
- '92-'96 MY... Don't replace, but can be cleaned with brake cleaner!
- '96-'98 MY... Don't replace, but can be cleaned with brake cleaner!
- '98-'00 MY... Once a year - get it checked as part of your service.
