Default Few Questions Re WRX 07

Hi folks.

Got a couple of quick questions.

1) Will a 2001 Full Decat exhaust fit on a WRX MY07?

2) Is the STi MY07 scoop different from the WRX MY07 scoop?

C) Does the WRX MY07 have a cat on?

4) Does the MY07 have different plugs? (was looking at these NGK PFR7B spark plugs but not sure if they'll fit)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Stew

1. Yes if a whole system is fitted.
2. No. The undertray and rubber seal is different though.
3. Yes, two in downpipe.
4. Yes. Use NGK ILFR7H

Excellent. Sorry, I mistyped question 3.

Does it have a cat on the up pipe?

Thanks a lot!

No cat in the up-pipe on the WRX or STi.

Standard at the moment...Hopefully looking at
Revolution System - Decat
STi TMIC
565 or 650cc injectors
Walbro pump (255)
Fuelab Regulator
TD05 20G or...I don't know. Undecided.
And pop up to AndyF for a remap.

You could drop the injectors as the WRX & STi share the same units.
If you need extra flow then just put up the regulator pressure.

Butty, that's not what I've been told.

See https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-my07-wrx.html

Confusion!

The hawkeye WRX and STi both share the same light blue injector, rated at 505 cc/min @ the std 3 bar.

The comments in that thread don't mention anything about bumping up the pressure, only injector size.
However, if you fit a pressure regulator and rise it to 3.7 bar then the injectors should be flowing the 560 cc/min.
I seem to remember that Mark at lateral performance mentioned that the STi injectors were OK to IRO 400 hp with increased pressure.
Given that you have the 5 speed gearbox then this level of HP (or more particularly torque) may be too far anyway.

Another point is that fitting a fuel regulator is easier than swapping injectors over.

Ideally I'd like to see 380hp. I understand that I'll be pushing things and maybe more investment will have to be made at a later date.

I will be upgrading the injectors. Probably to 650cc. Having a chat about it with someone this afternoon about costs.

Any other suggestions? Which turbo?

I'd make a torque based target for the 2.5 litre engine, especially as the WRX has the WRX 5 spd box. It may be beefed up for the hawkeye but I'd still see it as being the weak link.

I had a VF35 fitted to my old WRX wagon which put out 340/320 and I'd personally look at the VF35 again or the newer VF43 if I had a 2.5 WRX and wanted a very driveable fast road car.
The 05/18g would also be on the list, but the higher torque would nag at me.

Personally I agree with Butty.....keep the OEM injectors, raise the fuel pressure and spend the money saved on the turbo

I run a TD05 18G with near on 400 BHP using STi injectors (OK it has methanol injection), the VF34 or MD321 are alternatives I would also consider

Shaun

PS I also have wrecked one WRX gearbox so far !
