Allo Peeps - sorry mate couldn't resist.
Anyway.
Stavros, What power are you running now?
If you want to run close as possible 600 bhp i would imagine
there would be a fair bit of lag especially if its a 2.0 unit,
I'm no expert (far, far from it) but the big boys use 2.2 closed deck blocks and bore them out to 2.35 (i think) (dont the 2.5 units have gasket problems at this level?)thing is with this power you'll need a PPG gearbox and clutch to suit. plus maybe a strengthened driveshaft to
handle that sort of power.
If you've already done this and i'll telling you what you already know then please accept my humble appologies.
I'm sure the clever guys will be along shortly.
cheers

Stavros, GT4088R will do your requirement easily and with its twin scroll exhaust housing should spool relatively quickly.
I have a brandnew one for sale on ebay, ending today if your interested.
Cheers

Is normally Stroked with a 2.5l Crank.
But in answer to above I'd go with A GT35R, will give the best spool in getting to the 600hp Mark.

Thanks for the replies guys.
The car is purposed built for hillclimb.
Engine wise I have a USA built 2.5L long block with all the goodies inside and moded heads and race camshafts. Gearbox wise, i have PPG, CTG and upgraded axles, so no worries about that. Ah...and a REIGER suspension...
GT35R seems to be the winner and using anti-lag, little lag wont be an issue.
Now the question becomes, which A/R? 0.63, 0.87 or 1.06? This is a question for the advanced ones!

Obviously the different size exhaust housing give a trade off between spool and maximum power.
I would say 0.63 not big enough to make 600.
the GT35R I've seen have 0.82 ext a/r (Not 0.87) this should be the ticket.
The 1.06 Will probably loose 200rpms on the spool up but will comfortably pump out enough air for 600 bhp

Steve, i'd fit the twin scroll GT4088R for your 2.5 litre, it will spool the same as or maybe quicker than a single scroll GT35R.
600HP on a GT35R is at the top of the spectrum for a Subaru engine, maybe on a Honda or 4G63 engine but unlikely on a Scooby
Also Steven is quite correct about the 0.63 housing for the GT35R, too small for a 2.5 litre It will spool very quick but will run out of puff very early in the RPM range

The 1.06 will more likely be 500 RPM later spooling not 200rpm. The 1.06 housing might see more lilkely 600HP, the 0.82 not (From experience)

conrad, we get back to the twin scroll rotated pipes. And the ones I ve seen are about £1400 from the same american company , I have no info to suggest that the price/spec is better than any lateral supllied gt35r ?? I origially considered a modified up pipe for mygarret to suit twin scroll headers !! But I was talked out of it by turbo techniques

Steve, its a GT35/42, not a GT35
Conrad, having had all 3 housings (0.63, 0.82, and 1.06) on my GT35/42, your right in saying there is approx 500rpm between the housing sizes on a 2.35.
The .63, was a fecking animal the way it spooled but felt strangled at the top, but it still made 562bhp on a DD rolling road at 1.75bar.
The same setup has made 582 at 1.7bar using a .82 housing.
The 1.06 was by far the quickest to drive flat out at 1.7bar, but was so laggy in reality. This maexed out 880cc injectors at 4bar very early. We estimated 600+
However, on a 2.35, the quickest my car has ever been, and hardest to handle, was with the .82 running at 2.1 bar , easily over 600, easily.
On Steve's car with a 2.5 (CDB) and VVT heads, with cams, i personally think the 1.06 will be the best.

Any help would be appreciated as I am building a sleeved 2.7 stroker with ported heads and bigger cams and I am unsure which turbo to choose.
Thanks
