Default what bhp is a wrx ra ??

hi all just bought a 98 r reg wrx ra does any 1 no what bhp these are standard and whats the 0.60 time ?

ive been told 276 ?? bhp
its all so got a vf22 turbo fitted but running standard boost, and a sti top mount, and scooby up and down pipe and full ss system
can i just fit a boost controller to turn up the boost or is it best to get a new ecu ??

Ive got a WRX Ra as well mate and ive got a PFC and Elecronic boost controller, i wouldnt just up the boost without a remap

Mine came with a VF29 and according to a book i looked at they came with 259 bhp

i though the wrx ra were also rated 280hp?

New ECU and remap mate, fiddling with boost on JDM models without adjusting fueling an ignition maps to suit is asking for a rebuild! Best option probably Apexi Power FC. I think it might also be possible to map your current ECU using ESL. You'd be well advised to speak to someone like Jolly Green Monster or Andy F on here.

Don't go mad looking for power though, get used to what you've got first. It'll be plenty quick enough with 280 and RA gearing, especially to 60!!

ive just come from a supra tt running 440 bhp so it feels a bit slow at the mo just want a bit more power..

lol. Point taken

Have a word with David at Api about increasing your ponies, tell him Ns04 sent ya.

Be warned though 440 wouldn't be cheap, 340 wouldn't cost the earth though!
