Default EMISSIONS

Wondering if someone could help me??i have a 93 WRX and went in for a mot and failed on emissions.the co2 is well high on one reading it came out at 10.6 at 2500rev and its ment to be below 0.300.in neutral at idle it past.

The garage said it may b the Lambda Sensor.i have checked the ecu and code 31 cam up but thats the TPS and i dont think it would affect the emission?but could be wrong.

ne ideas thanx..

Just checked my results and

CO 0.695%
CO2 11.40%
HC 00149ppm
O2 03.18%

And that passed without a cat so i'm guessing they didn't use the Basic Emissions Test which is applicable to early (pre July 95) imports.

I meant the CO not CO2.

Fast Idle Test

Min Mine
CO 0.300 10.140
HC 200 453

Min Max Min
Lambda 0.970 1.030 0.761

Any help is grateful

thanks

Those are the wrong test standards for a JDM 93 WRX, you have upto 3.5% CO and 2000ppm HC and no Lambda value at all.

It could be the TPS yes.....if its reading throttle open when it should read shut it COULD cause a problem....but its much more likely that its the Oxygen sensor as it looks like its running on the 25% clamp!
