your either buying poor quality rads or need to look into a more serious problem............

putting an ali rad on will only potentially mask the more involved issue

already had new water pump, new thermostat,no contamination into oil, coolent still nice n blue...runs perfect...maybe im looking too hard...im going to try a new rad cap,if mines not releasing water to expansion tank but holding it in engine then may this.the other thing is,it all started when my internal heater matrix weld corroded...maybe,as good as it can be at self bleeding, there might be a air pocket somewhere......this is why im nat mi wits end..ive tried nearly everything

Im having exactly the same problem. Already changed the thermostat, rad, all the hoses and the header tank. Was just about to change the waterpump as i was under the impression that if it was the headgasket id see bubbles in the header tank? How else can you check for headgasket failure? Mines just had a rebuild!

By carrying out a 'sniffer' test.

in brief, you put sniffer fluid into the tester and place it in place of your radiator cap and if the fluid changes colour you have a leak ....poss into your water system...thus creating pressure

no probs, i just hope you get it sorted !

if halfords havent got any then a realy good motor factors will have one.

snap on one is a bit pricey, you could try ebay and go to 'tools' and type snap on if theres none in there try sealey but theres is £61.

remember this is to check for combustion leaks, its not a pressure tester for the water system.

it will just rule out the fact of h/gasket failure leaking gas into the water system.

Bingo !!!!!!

take a look here for £25

BLOCK / COMBUSTION LEAK TEST / TESTER KIT (BT500) on eBay, also, Special Tools Measuring Tool, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 11-Jan-08 11:34:54 GMT)
