Please Help my WRX
When i first got the car i was told the heater matrix needed replacing (the guy gave me one with car to replace it with).
Today before starting anything i had no problems with car at all apart from no hot air.
So i ripped the dash out and changed the heater matrix only to realise that the donut who i got the car off had to the pipes off the heater matrix and just joined them together soi connected them up propley and all good.
Now i''m trying to sort out the bodging wiring but when i started the car i get clicking sound from this thing to the right hand side of car on top of the wheel arch.
then checking to see if that car is getting up to temp and it does but for some reason the top rad pipe gets hot but the bottom pipe is stone cold and i have engine check light flashing mad at me.
I don't know what i have done but something is wrong with the wiring but i can't see how that would effect the water & temp etc.
If anyone has any ideas to my problems or even live or around yeovil mind giving me a hand to this situation i would be most grateful.
The car is a 92yr Jreg WRX IMPORT Classic.
Thank you

right the clicking noise is the boost solinode - but the topics i have found conflict each other say one or another thing about if this is normal or not.
Could anyone varyfy this?
The rad pipe could either be
a sticky thermostat - cheap enough prob just stick a new one in anyway
rad blacoked - how could i unblock it
water pump - dare i ask about this.
Thank you
All help wil be greatfully appericated.

The brown thing is the MAP sensor IIRC. The one below is the boost control solenoid. The boost control solenoid is known to click.
Thermostat is on the block, accessed by removing the bottom rad pipe, I think. If you think the rad is blocked, for the price of on I'd just replace it TBH. Only £100 or so.
Water pump, I dont even know where that is, so I'd pay someone to replace that if it was duff.

Yeah, the clicking noise is normal if its coming from where you say.
Are you sure your coolant is full ? try filling it a bit at a time and squeeze the rad pipes to try and shift air from them.
It also sounds to me like you may have the connectors used to show fault codes connected when they shouldn't be, with the solenoid clicking and the check engine light flashing, look under the steering wheel and see if the 2 green / 2 black connectors are joined, they should be (cant remember if its green or black for the codes but neither should be).
Might be worth a look, you will need to find out what the codes are tho if they are !
