another tsl 333 thread
I know there are loads of old threads on this upgrade,
but I was wondering how your tsl 333 cars were running after a couple of years. Any reliability issues creating expected warranty problems??My warranty is due to run out soon but I was thinking of keeping it going to sort any possible electrical problems...
Also which insurance company seems the most forgiving?
(I was looking at a crossroads upgrade, but a the last minute they suddenly decided that a MY05 sti was totally different to all other scoobies and they needed to charge me £3k instead of the quoted £2k so I am seriously unimpressed with them.)
TSL have quoted me about £850 for a PPP upgrade to 333 retaining some of the parts used by prodrive...Im assuming that primarily it will be just the ecu and a few parts, meaning that the average dealer might not spot the changes that quickly???

Just get a remap done through any of the recognised tuners and you will be suitably impressed.
Warranty for electrical problems?? I wouldnt bother, I havent heard of any having any and in the 130,000 miles that I have done in my various subarus I have never had an issue.

so if i leave the PPP kit on and jsut get a new ecu, how much BHP can be released or can the PPP chip be remapped?
and are there any good tuners who can remap the car in the south east capable of this??

You don't need a new ECU The PPP ECU will be re-mapped. TSL did mine back in March 06 and there's been absolutely no issues at all, since. It was a re-map whilst retaining the PPP exhaust. I have before and after power curves and whilst there is no gain below 3.5k from then on the re-map pulls away with up to 40bhp gains in places. The dealer will not spot any underbonnet changes.

this is great info chaps
I was getting ready to shell out nearly 2k at crossroads
looks like it would have been a complete waste and the car would have been clearly modified...bringing on the problems with warranty etc.
brian rawles website is inder reconstruction at the moment..
where is he based??
thanks
