Default Help!!!! Exhaust Problems!!!

I own a my06 jdm STI... Recently i decided to change the middle section and the backbox of the exhaust since it was way too quiet and boring for me... I decided to change to something just a bit more loud but not excessive so i went and ordered a GReddy Power Extreme 2 Exhaust for a GDBF... We went through the catalog with the shop owner and found out that Greddy's PE2 is the same for the GDBE and the GDBF, and so went along and ordered it... The exhuast finally came before a week but there is a small problem now... IT WONT FIT!!!!!! The midsection seems to be a bit longer than it should and I was told that i would need a new downpipe to make it fit... Is this really the case? and if so doesnt greddy know which exhaust fits which model? especially when the exhaust is advertised as direct replacement catback... also is the GDBE's Exhuast really that different from the GDBF or evevn if i owned a GDBE would i still have the same problem?
Please help as i am starting to doubt the knowledge of after market part companies....

actually what happened was i got a call from the shop owner telling me he messed the exhausts up and had given me a n exhaust for the gda and not for the gdbf and that he had given the guy with the gda my exhaust. the reason i didnt find out about this is that i didnt take the box with me since it was too big and wouldnt fit in the car and that all the instrauctions are in japanese...
anw now its fitted and everything seems and sounds ok!
Also Dave the midsection is longer than the original one and the bb pipping is smaller as you said...
