Default Milltek Sports Exhaust

Is anyone on here running a 3" Milltek exhaust on a Newage?

If so, what do or don't you like about it and do you think it is worth the high price tag?
(about £1000 incl. VAT and Highflow Sportscat).

Hi Mate,

I had a 2.75" system on my car but changed it for a RCM system. The Milltek are a great system.

To be honest its perosonal choice if you wanted to spend that amount etc. The highflow sports cat is good. Thats part of the reason on the price. Sports cats are more money.

I've now got a RCM 3" system with non-res and the TEAM ICE rear section. Thats with a sports cat. Alot cheaper than the Milltek and if I am honest better build. But as they say "the choice is yours" .

Thanks Steve,

That was the sort of real life experience I was looking for. I do realise a good CAT will add quite a lot to the price. Appreaciate the advice on the RCM system.

Anyone else with an opinion?

Cheers
Richard

Im running the full 3" Milltek on mine its build quality is very good better than what I had on my previouse Impreza.I did have the sports cat in the centre section but I changed it to a decatt centre and kept hold of the sports cat for mot time but as Steve says its a personal choice.

I ran a de-cat exhaust on my bug eyed and noticed much improvement in performance. only downsides are having to refit cats for the mot and it brings engine warning light on as it affects the cat sensor, but an electrical resistor kit is available to solve this problem. a much cheaper option than sports cat.

Thanks for all replies so far.

I definitely want to have a cat in the system and am prepared to sacrifice a few bhp to make sure the car is legal on the emissions side and I don't have to worry about spot checks or fitting a cat at MOT time.

Steve, I am interested in what price you paid for the RCM system too. Could you please pm me the part numbers and what it cost you. Did you buy direct from RCM?

milltek very good quality and good flow / performance having mapped a fair few cars with them on... I have no experiance of whether the sports cat will pass an mot and this is something I would want confirming before paying the extra for the catted version. Other sports cats I have seen don't pass an mot

3" Miltek with sports cat on mine - passed the mot last time no problem.

Bit too loud for me though - tbh more boomy than loud, plus I am getting on a bit and appreciate the quieter things in life a bit more now

So have a prodrive backbox on it at the moment modded by H&S to fit the 3"

Dunno about the Milltek, but my Ninja sportscat downpipe passed the MOT with no probs (other parts H&S decat and Prodrive BB). Have heard likewise from other owners.

mine passes mot and had miltek with cat for about 4 years now.. However... I still get a P0420 code on occasions, but I just reset the ecu with my Psi3.. you can only truley get rid of the code with a tinkering with ecu mapping software..

I have the Milltek 3 inch system on my newage and it is a great system IMO. Never going to get pulled for being noisy nor chucked off a track day for it either. Perfect.

93db at 5000 rpm static test.

Dont know about the sports cat version though as mine is decat.

I have a Miltek Mid/Rear 3 inch and decat H&S 3 inch downpipe on my sti5

I previously had a HKS Mid/Rear 3 inch mated to the H&S

HKS was far louder at 104db's or 99.7 with the bung in for Track - I had a few exhausts prior and if its all out BHP you want I rate this system
Milltek is 94dbs and doesnt need a bung - It does feel a little slower but maybe me thats my imagination as it was still a 3 inch and shouldnt be restrictive I havent had it remapped

The wife now complains that the Milltek is very, very quiet - a little too much so

I also have the PowerStation Milltek with SportsCat on my new sti Forester - again very quiet - its quieter than my sti5
I am thinking of removing the Sports Cat and remapping the Forester - not sure how much that can liberate over a sports cat - 10bhp/10lbs?

Re MOT I dont have any issues here ;-) and I have never had a spot check on emissions in my life (after 500k miles of driving)

i am to looking in to a miltek full system for newage hawkeye with sports cat,
i know its expensive but well rated by subaru prosport of manchester. yes about £1000 for the system plus fitting i am finding. been quoted between 5 and 15 bhp loss over de cat depending who you speak to!
"wont affect warranty if fitted at prosport either". its also been cofirmed wont affect mot. heard one on youtube and had a nice gurgle without being OTT.
getting to old for dodging plod, so dont think i will take a chance, ive also seen somewere on one of the peformance forums mention of upto £1000 fine which knowing my luck id be pulled outside the fitting centre, lol.

unfortunately cant find anyone else doing a sports cat 100cell downpipe for the 2500cc engine so no choice.

build quality from what ive been told is top quality.

100 cell - thats the best you can get I think?
Is that the one that Litchfield fit via Powerstation on their cars? - I've no idea what inch exhaust or cat type I have on my Forester - then again maybe I'm just lazy and havent checked
