Default changed plugs & sorted my probs

i have recently had a probs with my my98 wrx hestitating, so i thought i would change my plugs take a look at what i found and tell me what you think.

the first plugs gap was 1.4mm

Looks like the electrode has completely gone!

Have you put new ones in now?

yeah i put iridium ones in this morning they look fooked

Err - they're well past their sell-by date! Judging by the state they're in I'd suspect they could be the originals!! Just because changing the plugs on an Impreza is not as simple as most other cars, they often get "forgotten"

i only bought the car a month ago and it was running fine but then i fitted the hks 3" turbo back decat exhaust air filter and bov it started fooking about and i was told if there is to much air and the plugs are crap then it can cause the spark to be blown out so i checked them and as you can see the gap is twice what it should be. cant wait to get the pfc on. lol

With what you've done,you really need to make sure the engine is not detting. The damage to the plugs could indicate pre-ignition.

well hopefully my pfc will arrive soon and then jgm can map it for me i suppose it is down to poor maintainance by the previous owner.
