Question WRX don't seem to want to go...

We are not sure if it's just the plugs that need changin but when you boot the scooby the turbo cuts in and then it seems like it's mis-firein and holdin back on the power, we changed the fuel filter but still the same and changed something in the boost but still the same.

Any idea's any1?????

Possibly MAF sensor. Careful if it is, as giving the cars some stick when this is on the the way out can kill your engine!

Quick trip to a specalist, 5 mins diagnostic for the price of a couple of pints! Saves a lot of guess work!

what year is it, does it have a coil per cylinder? does it bring the eml light on?
mine had the same, missfire on boost, it didnt bring the light on and it some times it would be ok, it turn out to be the coils, but because on early model it doesnt bring a fault you cant know what coil is causing it.
i end up buying a set of four and it runs perfect, apperantly is very common on early classic models.
if i can help let me know.
good luck Rvizela

IYA MATE SEEMS TO ME U COULD HAVE A FUEL PROBLEM AS I HAD THE SAME ISSUE ON MYN. U SEE WHEN THE BOOST REACHES TOO MUCH ABOVE THE FACTORY LEVEL THE FUEL CUT KICKS INN. SOURCE URSELF A FUELCUT DEFENCER AS I DID AND U SHOULD CURE UR PROBLEM OK MISTER.

Well we changed the spark plugs and MAF sensor still the same so i took the leads off and they have had it! They have hair line cracks at the ends and when you take the end off it breaks off!! But could that be the cause off the boost problem or do i try the fuelcut defencer like THE MAN THAT CAN said???

Last edited by alanandnicky; 09 January 2008 at 11:10 PM. Reason: put defender instead of defencer
