2004 uk wrx
guys just a quick one
what power can a 2004 uk wrx engine take, on the standard internals without pushing it too much?
would it take around 340-350bhp or any more or any less?

personaly i would change the turbo to a vf34/35 and then not go further untill you get a rebuild and new gearbox ect, as said on the site, it may take it or it may not, so depends if you can afford to risk the need for a rebuilt engine and gearbox, if you can afford the risk the save money and just go rebuild now, saves money in the long run.
how you go i think realy depends on how far you plan to mod to

A newage WRX works very well with a VF34/35 and the usual right supporting mods and should produce a 'safe' 330bhp (+/-20hp) with similar/slightly less torque.
This, if the car is looked after the way it should be, even if standard, should
be well within the engine/gearbox's capabilities, making a very quick fast road car..
You will need to address the standard brakes however..!

as for the vf34/45
the 2004 uk wrx engine has been fitted into a 99 uk turbo!
will the above turbo be a direct fit or will it need to be moddified in anyway
as i am unsure about this

what turbo fitiment is it?
90 degree or front entry?
so i assume it will be the same for the td04 already fitted. but what i am confused on is there much difference between the parts from a 99 uk turbo engine and turbo to a 2004 uk wrx engine and turbo? if that makes sense!
also will i need any gaskets or sealant or such things new washers etc etc?

yep you got it in one, went pop and then was used as a replacement, plus a selection of supporting mods, fmic, 550 injectors, spacer on manifold, induction kit, fpr, uprated fuel pump. full decat,
thats why i was asking regarding power issues and the turbo to see what options there could be as i think most of the supporting mods are there, (correct me if i am wrong) but i did not want to fit a turbo if i was missing anything or it would lead to any major issues regarding reliabilty (another engine poping) or something similar
