Question Yellow Injectors

Hi folk,

I bought my car not knowing that it had an engine transplant and when I discovered and had a closer look, the engine fitted has yellow (440 I think) fitted.

Does anyone know what model came with these as standard as I would like to know what the engine is and what year the engine might actually be.

Any help would be great and I can answer other questions to help id if possible.

BTW it has SUBARU 16v on the rocker covers, the extra hole for the coil pack on the rocker covers and the turbo was fitted with flue / stack

Cheers

Assuming your car is an MY00 the inlet manifold and fuel rails and injectors are probably from the car not the engine.. therefore no help in identifying.

You need to look at the number of bolt holes around the bell housing to establish if it is an my99/my00 engine or earlier.

Yes mate, car is feb 99, does have the manifold, injector rail, loom etc for the car but the main block has been changed. Putting a new downpipe and boost controller on next week so will have a look underneath.

A mate thinks the block may be from ans STI RA

If you have two bolt holes for the coil packs,it's prob a Legacy engine you have.

that is very difficult if impossible to tell without stripping it..
you can see if it is a closed deck block by looking for cross hatching on the block.. but if it has the 8 bolt points on the bell housing then it is a phase 2 block and therefore cannot be a closed deck block.. it could be an sti ra phase 2 but no easy way to tell.. other than internals etc..
