jdm wrx blobeye which turbo gives these figures?
hi all, i have just purchased a jdm wrx blobeye.
It has a decat exhaust and has been remapped, I have a rolling road printout that came with the car which shows 304 bhp and 318 lb/ft torque, my first question is do you guys think this car is running a td04? as far as i know these max at 280bhp, yet i can find no evedence of the turbo being changed so i cant help wondering if the jdm cars with a turbo other than a td04?
This is my third wrx having had two ppp bug eyes and one was decatted and mapped to 280 by tsl, but it still did not feel anything like as quick as this new jdm car which would lead me to believe the rr figures to be correct?
The other thing I noticed was the jdm brakes are shocking, really that bad especially as the car is very quick, pulls like a train from 2500rpm. I cant afford to spend a lot on upgrading the brakes, but the car really cant be driven hard without the problem being addressed, can anyone give me a idea of a cheaper upgrade route than sti brembos which still cost a lot second hand and are out of my budget at the moment.

Apparently that sort of power can be obtained from a TD04, but it would be unusually high. See below I copied from this thread,
https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...urbo-good.html
"309.4 here on a 54 plate car and 322lbft of torque on a DD dyno with Optimax in the tank..Harry it is possible but requires the best supporting mods (Nothing with Ebay written on the tin....lol) and a good map...
"
Maybe your car was on a rather optimistic rolling road? Have you had a good look at the turbo to see what model it is?
As for your brakes, the cheapest upgrade would be to change your pads to something like Pagid RS4-2-1 or Ferrodo DS2500 and install Goodridge braided hoses.

thanks for the reply, the supporting mods are:
full 3"decat system,
sti top mount
boost controller
remap
3 prt valve
the car has vvt
and the usual jdm spec engine differences with the inlet manifold etc.
the front brakes seem to lock/abs very easily but the overall stopping power is crap, these cant be the same as uk wrx brakes as Ive had one the same year and they were much better.
