I was advised not to run a turbo jacket on my MD321H as the extra heat retained in the turbo could compromise long-term reliability
Running a VF28 at the moment, probably going to VF/GT30 at a later stage. I was thinking of the jacket in terms of reducing lag and for better spool up but reading on nasioc.com site seems some folks also agree it can reduce the turbo life considerably.
I have seen a cool product, can't remember the company but they do a heatshield sheet made of aluminium and other stuff, can be shaped into anything including a turbo heatshield.
Incidently I took off the original factory one due to it rattling like a tin can at 4k to 5k rpm (tried everything to secure it but in the end just removed it completely).
