You can have it set as loud as you like, however there is a trade off between this and turbo life....

the SimTek is an excellent piece of kit.

as steve says 2 anti-lag settings dependant on how much noise you want, love it.

if you have anti-lag the als map should switch dependant on high or low boost map.

back to the original question.....

my antilag is mild (as per Steve)...... only put it on a hand full of times..... and it does give big bangs...

not used it as it should be used though (competition).........

Launch control.... not had it yet...... need to get my ecu sent up to Steve.... it's just finding the damn time to be without a car....

I really do fancy having the launch control.... but it'll probably wear off after i've used it a few times....

Steve, do you sell and map yourself? I know there is a "Steve" somewhere that does, Steve Simpson IIRC?

Planning on getting a Simtek in early '09 as part of a circa 400bhp upgrade to MY95 WRX

didn`t realise the ecu had to be sent back to have the launch control fitted, thought it was a software update the mapper could do

I didn't have the option installed when installed/mapped......

easy option is to post the ECU to have the upgrade......

Royal mail do all the hard work

Entirely depends on which version of board and software you are on Tiny , I'll pull your map up in a bit and have a look to see which version you are on...
We had to do the same with JD's as it was the very first 2k ecu...

Steve,

Yes, I am Steve Simpson and I am aware of your commercial policy. However my posts regarding the pricing of the SimTek ECU were made in response to queries regarding said prices.I felt in the circumstances that,as I was in a position to point out the correct prices, it would not have been in the members interests to not do so; particularly as there was a possibility that someone could have been paying more than the RRP....I didn't regard this as unauthorised advertising; merely ensuring SN members were getting the correct and up to date information.

If you see this differently then I can only apologise and promise to try harder next tiime!

Regards
Steve

Steve,
Unfortunately promoting what your product does and how much it costs is far from anything other than commercial advertising.

Like I said, if you would like details on packages we can provide to enable you to do this please get in touch.

Ok, but you should then also delete the post which incorrectly gives an over-inflated price of the SimTek; as you are now in possession of the correct prices.....otherwise I might think you are favouring the H...RA ECU. LOL.

The posts regarding my views on the relative merits and dangers of having a "loud" ALS were there purely to give a technical view on this issue.I thought that this is what this forum was for.I believe it would be in everyones best interest if these posts were re-instated -the technical point that "louder bangs" can reduce turbo life are valid whatever ECU is being used.

That post has been unremoved, with the commercial bit edited out which I trust you understand.

If you want to correct someone on pricing..... then you know what to do, click the Webmaster PM button for details of packages available.

the correctly over inflated prices iv stated were including postage of the ecu, the lad organising it setting up a mapper and flying the uk mapper over here
and a putting him up in a hotel for him for a weekend.
so i find it reason able.
sure itd be cheaper if i bought it and could map it myself in the back yard.
