Default SD Roll Cage Fitting

I have a Safety Devices Q22 6 point bolt in roll cage that I have removed from my rolled car and going to install into another Year 2000 UK Turbo Impreza.

Although the cage is bolted in, it has plates welded to the floor and rear bulk head to allow the cage to bolt onto something flat and stronger.

I'd imagine fitting is the reverse of how I un-bolted the cage to take it out of the car.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has done this type of thing before and from anyone who can weld these things in place.

Cheers.

if you are taking it out of a rolled car, be very wary that no damage has been caused to the rollcage.

Yep, the cage is fine, it was quite a light roll, but enough to dent roof in, but cage is fine.

It is all a reversal of installation. Front out first, rear follows.
Remove steering wheel and pssiblt a rear side door. You might get lucky.

Mounts easy to make from 3mm plate and weld full nuts onto the back of them.(or cut the old ones out of the shell?)

Remove steering wheel and rear door? What for? Will it get in the way of the welding? ie melt stuff?

Exactly.

Getting the cage rear into the car made me remove the drivers rear door and steering wheel. This is a fully trimmed car (classic shape)

Also, as it was 5 years ago, the cage was a UK made unit, so dimensions might be different.

All in all not a hard job, but a tedious one in my case. Even the wife had to be enlisted to help in the end!

Cheers for all your help guys - just to be sure, this is the cage I have.

http://www.safetydevices.com/images/...6-point-bo.gif

Mine has one diagonal bar thats fixed to the cage that runs from top drivers side to bottom passanger side.

I cant work out in my minds eye (am at desk at work stuffing down some food right now) how it would go in?

Assume it would go in via driver side rear with door off, then forward towards the drivers seat area?
