TURBOCHARGER INTERCHANGABILITY/COMPATIBILTY???
Hi.
Are there any off-the-shelf 'adapter hoses' which will allow the outlet from an early WRX's resonator box to be able to mate up to an exchange front-entry ( rather than the OEM top-entry) turbocharger e.g. like those of the IHI VF' range?
If not, who would I have to speak to regarding this mod (if I were to I fit a front-entry turbo at a later date)?
Thanks.

you just need a 90degree samco bend and a metal tube section the same diameter as the inlet pipe.. 60mm if I remember correct.. then connect straight onto the FE turbo and fit the original inlet pipe.

Thanks. Presumably any Subaru specialist worth his salt would have facility to these materials, and expertise in fitting these bits?

yes, it is not a major job.. Professional Motorsport Parts, Spares & Rally Equipment from Rally Design would sell the samco bend and probably a metal piece too. But best to measure your turbo inlet etc first to make sure you but the right sizes.

JGM, just been checking out Rally Design's Samco 90-deg hoses and the aluminium connecting pipes (loads of different internal diameters options )... Would those particular products be of sufficient cumulative length to be able to make the bridge from resonator to turbo?
Also, would the 90-deg hose fit directly onto the turbo's inlet collar, whilst the metal tube connects the other end of the 90-deg hose to the resonator box of the air-cleaner assembly? Am I barking up the right tree, or... plainly barking?
Thanks.
