As it says, booked my MOT this morning and when I was out this afternoon, pulled into a car park and heard a loud bang from the back end of the car. As I suspected the rear drop link had snapped.
It's easy enough to fix, that's not a problem, the question is will this cause a fail on my MOT - I just need to know how quick I need to get the bits in and fitted.

You could just remove the rear links and ARB for the test. They can only test what is fitted, and if it isn't there, they can't fail it on it. People have been known to MOT cars with no headlights instead of it failing on a faulty one. Similarly, it is illegal to have a spare tire below the required tread depth or under/over inflated with no means of correcting it, but it is not illegal NOT to have a spare
Remember, not all cars have ARB's, such as old Sport's.

I did think of that, but given that I have nowhere under cover to do the work I'll spend less time in the cold and wet if I just change the drop-links

Thanks for all the input guys - I've just ordered some Perrin replacements. Hopefully they'll turn up in time, after all it's only a quick job to change them.
