Radiator Coolant Hose Split

Radiator Coolant Hose Split
Guys.
Driving to work on Saturday morning, and smoke staretd pouring out from under my bonnet.
Pulled over, popped the bonnet, to be greeted by a cloud of steam - it actually turned out to be engine coolant steam.
Basically, i'd a 2 inch split in the top radiator coolant hose and the coolant had sprayed all over the hot engine.
I got my dad round to where i'd pulled over, he took the pipe off and bound it with electrical tape and filled my coolant with warm water to get me home. He also didn't tighten the coolant filler cap, cos otherwise the pressure may have burst the temporary pipe repair.
We left it at his (was real near by) and I went to work. Later on I drove it the short distance to my house, but when I got home and switched it off, the smoke was back - Do you think this was just coolant that was still on the block steaming off?
The temp sensor was fine throughout this.
I'm trying to source a replacement ohse, so far Subaru is winning at £24 - anyone got one? (PM me)
When I replace the pipe, and replace the coolant, should I buy a special coolant or can I just use water?
Do I need to bleed it or something, if so how do I do this?

I got the pipe u need,
good condition, yours for £8 delivered.
Let me know
Also, drain the system (small plug on the bottom leftside of the rad iirc) and refill with antifreeze/coolant, i go for a 30% mix, but check manufacturer first.

Same thing happened to me on Thursday morning:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ownership.html
I haven't got my replacement hose yet so don't know how bad/if there is any damage yet. I couldn't really leave the car where it was so had to try moving it, wrong decision to make.
