Default Running rough

Brought the car home tonight and it was running really badly, to a point that every so often it would spit flames out of the exhaust, and I didn`t even have the antilag switched on. Not only that but i was keeping it off boost. When i got it home I allowed it to cool and then had a look around for any hoses that might have popped off etc. The only thing I could find was that it was low on oil, is this likely to be the problem?

i haven`t found any obvious traces of oil anywhere so i`d say its not spitting it. I do know the turbo`s been whiny for a while as thats next on the list for replacement so would think that has something to do with the lack of oil
