Default problem with my subaru

I've got a highly tuned 93 wrx. It has a nissan maf, 18g turbo, fmic, 550cc injectors power fc, etc, etc

Anyway it has been running fine (it's not abused or anything) last week I was driving home and it started spluttering a little. It was like I was low on fuel, but there was plenty in it.

I managed to get it home and had a mechanic look at it. It turned out the arm on the turbo had stuck and he managed to pop it back with a screw driver and the car was fine.

I've not really driven it since then as have another car. My mechanic mate came round to fit a set of plugs and do an oil change. After he'd finished he took it for a spin and it was fine. I took it round the block but when I came back it was spluttering.

I thought it was plug related so he took the plugs out and put the old ones back in. Car run fine, but when I trurned it off and started it again it spluttered.

It seems to splutter when you first start the car, but after a blast for a bit it goes away. If I pull over and turn off for a few mins then start again the splutter is back.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

We've checked over the vacum pipe and fuel pipes, they seem to be fine. There is no air getting in from the intercooler pipes.

cheers
