I have noticed that sometimes my my99 classic is juddery when pulling away in 1st but not allways.

Any ideas?

Welcome to Subaru ownership! Common problem I'm afraid, my MY99 has done it for 7yrs, seems worse when its raining, but not always. Subaru's advice is when it's all nicely warmed up give it a couple of full blast pull aways and it will sort itself out, for a while anyway.

My P1 does it but not very often as it had a new clutch and flywheel done under warranty at 20k.
Common fault I'm afraid, although pre 97 cars don't suffer afaik, my Mcrae's never did anyway

I let mine warm up for 3 minutes, then go easy on the first couple of gear changes.

As mentioned mine judders in first like mad very anooying at first but you get used to it. However nothing wrong with clutch as it doesnt slip at all and goes away when warmed up. I just call it one of the many traits of this type of car

Mine too, a fast launch with 4k on the rev counter seems to have cleared it for a bit. Only happened sporadically before that.

For me the hard launches dont do nout but its usually ok when warm unless its slipping through the gears then you should be fine

Mine was doing exactly the same thing when I first bought it. As mentioned give it a few blasts and itl go away for a bit. Eventually needed to change the clutch and iv had no judders at all, but I only changed it cos of slipping and it needed to be done at the time.

Mine does this too and a bit more revs does help but I have a Exedy Organic clutch so I can't blame it on the OEM one!
