i have this loud ticking/tapping noise from the front of the car when im at bout 4-5k revs not sure if its coming from the engine or what has any1 got any ideas please help!!!!!!

 

get somebody to take a look at it ... have you had any work done on the car recently???

 

no nothings been done just started doing it last night

stone wt tht only rattles at 4-5k revs in any gear i thought it might be summat rubbing but obviously the cars doing different speeds in every gear at 4-5k revs so i thought it might be summat to do with the engine just thought this may of already happened to some one else (really doing my head in!!)
did notice tht if i nail it through the gears it dont happen its only when you sit at 4-5k revs then again not sure if i just dround out tht noise when i plant it lol

 

just took it out and realised tht it makes the noise when you hold it just as its boosting ???????

 

Probably an exhaust heat shield loose and rattling at certain resonance levels...... but could also be other things like a cambelt tensioner for instance,so unless you can pinpoint the noise down to a specific area id get it checked for peace of mind.........
