Back box hanger reversal

I'm changing the back box on my v4 WRX, from an STi box to one off a later WR Sport with the front hanger the wrong way round i.e. the new box's hanger points inwards instead of outwards. I can cut the hanger off myself but I wanted to mod it to fit, I'd need to get someone to weld it for me.
Will the centre/backbox joint droop without that extra hanger?
If I reverse the hanger, is it a simple case of cutting it off at the bottom and turning it 180 degrees then welding it back on, or is it also offset to one side in some way?
Cheers

That's handy then. I wonder if I could just cut it off with a hacksaw and then araldite it back the other way round? Or is that a really stupid idea? It would save me having to go and get it welded.

Well, quick update for those that search out this thread in the future; the hanger reversal was no problem, but with it actually engaged with the rubber, it pulls the whole box across to one side a little. So I've left it off for the time being and this gets it back centred again.
BTW the WR Sport box that's on there sounds brilliant, much better than my STI.
