Default turbo upgrade opinions plz

hi, im wanting more power from my 2003 jdm wrx. had some great advice from api but i would like some feedback from people on here regarding their set up.
im on a budget and am thinking of changing my td04 for a td05 16g. i dont like too much lag and wondered what other options i have for getting around the 330-350 bhp mark. i want to keep current injectors to keep costs down.
current spec.

jdm engine
sti top mount
ram air kit
full decat 2.5"
remap to 300bhp 312lbft
tdo4 (i know)
walbro 255

If you know that your not gonna want anymore than 350bhp in the future then the TD05 16g is a good choice.
The VF35 and the VF34 are also capable of upto 350bhp with the right mods, and are both a very good alternative

currrent injectors will limit power to around the 300 mark whatever turbo you strap on to it as they are 380cc,be best to go to at least 440cc if not 550 if you want to get the best out of a td05 16g or vf 34/35

My TD05 16G is mapped for 1.45 bar and my 440's are still OK, but only with an adjustable fuel regulator set to 3.5 bar (0.5 bar over standard). If you have 380s and you're planning for over 300bhp, you will need bigger injectors

Vf35 should be a bit more responsive than the 16G and will give you the power you crave.

Quite true as my 440's are pretty much at the limit at 1.3 bar on a 16g at normal fuel pressure

Yes that's probably true. I had a VF35 first then swapped it for a 16G. Although tbh there's not a whole lot in it. Bottom line is the TD05 flows more air but response isn't that much behind the VF I don't think.

Totally agree! i had both and preferred the td05. Another good option is the td05 BIG 16g which hopefully will be on order soon from andyf.
