Has nayone got a pic of where the thermostat is?
I am posibly thiking i have blown my HG, but first want to see if the thermostat is working because the bottom rad pipe is still cold after say 15 mins.
at present - after running for 15 mins, i check oil after and some bubble son the stick.
No mayo on oil cap
But some white smoke form exhaust with quite strong smell of fuel.
I have checked pipes and they seem Ok, and coolant/water is ok too at present?
Any ideas and pics of thermostat would be VERY good.

No pic but I can describe it. Find your bottom rad hose. Trace it back into the front of the block where there's an outlet for it. THat's your thermostat cover. Nothing more to it than that!
Well, apart from having to drain the water first, crawl about under the car etc. If you can't get the 'stat out, you could use a screwdriver to ping it out from the middle. They do sometimes get stuck, mine was, but then I had a replacement ready so it didn't matter if it knackered up.
