1000 Mile Oil Change after Running-in 2007 WRX 2.5
Does the stamp for my oil change have to be subaru dealer? If I get a non subaru dealer to stamp the book will that affect my warranty or anything bad like that?

As far as your warranty is concerned, any garage that is VAT registered can do the job, and the warranty will be OK.
Some people would say that dealer stamps will make the car easier to sell.
Most of the services are oil and filter though, so personally I don't bother with the dealers.

Why on God's earth, for a few quid, would you want to risk invalidating your 3 year warranty by letting some numpty garage do the work rather than the Scooby agent you bought it from?
Yes, any VAT registered garage can do the work, but if there is a problem like the garage using the wrong oil or filter and your engine packs up, Scooby will simply say f*ck off and rightly so.
And what about those marginal claims when, as a regular customer, some goodwill get applied to push something through in the hope you'll buy another motor, that kind of thing also goes right out of the window.
So you'll happily spend thousands on a brand new car and then scrimp maybe £30-£50 rather than ensure a perfect service record when you come to sell it?

Polomolo - the book states that the 1000 mile service has to be done by an authorised Subaru dealer.
After that, you are free to chose, a long as the garage is VAT reg., use Subaru parts, the same oil grade and all other fluids of the same Subaru spec.
Noobyscoooby - your comments are just SO wrong. I hope that no-one takes in your ill informed reply.
Personally, I've not thought of Zen Performance as being a "numpty" garage. Should I now do so?
