Most people recommend a Green filter or K&N. They have the bonus of lasting the life of the car (with a little cleaning), unlike the std or STi filters. Don't give you noticeably more power, though, maybe a bit more induction noise.

I have 15 years of using , trying and testing filters on cars, road and race bikes. And with out exception K&N have never failed to be the best , oh and best deals to be found on a well known auction site £45 I paid for mine
