Default Apexi AVC-R

Hello guys ,

I am planning a remap very soon. I had my car on the rollers the other day to make sure all was well and there were no problems before i go spending money.

I was advised by the garage to fit an Apexi AVC-R boost controler as this would help with future modifications and give me greater scope with the boost.

Can you guys tell me if an AVC-R is recomended and can i have this fitted before mapping.

Do you guys have any pics of this unit fitted to give me an idea of where to have it mounted. Im driving a bugeye STI.

Any advice will be much appreciated and the pros and cons of fitting this device.

Regards

Chris.

I'd ask your mapper for their advice mate. May well not be worth it for your car; the std Denso ECU IIRC on the new age cars has very good features including in gear boost compensation IIRC, so you might not be getting much out of fitting.

If you do need/would benefit from a boost controller though, the AVCR is VERY highly regarded! I'm getting one for my classic to be run in conjuction with an Ecutek remap (the JECS ecu on the classic has an annoying boost cut feature and doesn't have in gear boost compensation etc, so worth it for moi )

bugeye sti boost control on the standard ecu is very good.. 3port boost solenoid makes it even better..

if fitted a very large turbo then setup can be quicker and easier on an AVC-R but from what you mention I presume the car is running the standard turbo and therefore an AVC-R unnecessary imho.
